Today was just one of those days; those rare moments where Haylie slowly let her emotional walls down enough that she could start to process the things she normally allowed to fester and stew inside. Right now, the emotions playing out in her heart were the ones of fear and heartbreak from the attack on the base. If she reflected upon it enough and allowed herself to psychoanalyze, well, herself - she'd conclude that those feelings were triggered by the latest room assignments. Perhaps the most bothersome was the fact that she and Spencer were in separate buildings now and that only caused her brain to go into hyperdrive with paranoid thoughts of 'what if'. She was even less pleased with Daken being in the next room over because she knew that Spencer was still reeling from his encounter that day and would hesitate to use his powers if Daken threatened him. Of course, Haylie would have no problem letting Daken have it if he so much as laid a hand on Spencer, but that was hardly the point right now. ~~She could always ask Wade to keep an eye out...~~

Jaw set tightly, fingers thrumming with energy, she wandered across the courtyard in search of, well, something to allow her the chance for release. The energy was only increasing with the emotion she permitted herself to feel, and the restlessness she'd felt the last two days was going to drive her mad. That was quite possibly when the conversation she'd had with Sykes some time ago registered in the forefront of her mind. Now would be the perfect time to learn some self-defense. Her encounter with Daken in the Med Bay had been pivotal in making her realize that without her powers, she was just as helpless as the next average Joe.

Names of several of the camp's members flitted through her head as if she'd been using a mental roladex and she'd settled on two names. Wade and Sykes. Either one of them would do for teachers, she just had to find them.

And wandering aimlessly through the courtyard was apparently her way of searching.
