Slow down, what's on your mind?
It's alright, I'm on your side
I hate to see your injury
I wish that you could transfer all your pain to me

Open up next to you and my secrets become your truth
And the distance between that was sheltering me comes in full view
Hang my head, break my heart built from all I have torn apart

After the meeting about the upcoming raid, Haylie had slipped Roy a note asking him to meet her later to talk privately about things. Not only was the plan insane, but she wasn't comfortable with Daken being in charge of watching Roy's back. Combat experience or not, she didn't trust him at all. In her opinion, he'd done nothing but prove how much of an arrogant, misogynistic prick he could be. She'd much rather Tabitha or herself be the one to watch Roy's back, even though logically it all made sense to split the teams the way he did.

Haylie adjusted the black insulated gloves on her hands as she paced around outside the base, scanning the area for hostile heat signatures. Technically, she was supposed to be in bed resting, but her powers were building up and there wasn't a safe way to discharge without giving off their location. Instead, she got restless and put herself in charge of security for the night.

...She was thinking too much to sleep, anyway.
