In hindsight? Damaging the second floor of Jefferson hall in an attempt to get to Spencer and protect the others wasn't the best idea she'd had. Why? Because now she was stuck rooming with the one and only Emma Frost. The telepath. And as she made her way down the hall to Spencer and Roy's room? She was convinced that it was payback for the damage to the base. It had to be karmic punishment. It was bad enough that she had to room with the telepath, but with Sykes missing, there was no escape from Emma.

But all discomfort aside? She had more important things to contend with. Particularly? Spencer. He killed the operatives that tried to get the jump on him during the invasion and had gotten shot on top of that. Had Olivia not been there to heal him, he could've died. And, of course, Haylie's eternally grateful to her for this. After giving herself enough time to deal with the frightening display of power she'd shown that night, along with the bodycount she'd unintentionally racked up (which was still eating away at her), she decided that now was the time to check up on her friend.

Arms folded, dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt (partly because it was late), she knocked on Spencer's door and waited for him to answer. Because as soon as he did? He was getting dragged into the empty room a few doors down to talk uninterrupted. And because she didn't want the emotion of it all sending Roy into a tizzy.
