It's not like I'm walking alone into the valley of the shadow of death
Stand beside one another 'cause it ain't over yet
I'd be willing to bet that if we don't back down
You and I will be the ones that are holding the crown in the end
(
Everybody with your fists raised high, let me hear your battle cry tonight. Stand beside or step aside, we're on the front line.

I confess you are the best thing in my life...
While Haylie was absolutely
furious
about not only having been placed in a separate building from Spencer, but learning that Daken was just down the hall from him made her incredibly paranoid. Her mind was full of "what ifs" and horrible scenarios that would make Spencer's having gotten shot look like child's play and she needed to just... calm down. The best way to do so was to go see him for herself. She'd see that he was fine, nothing was wrong, and she was just being overprotective again.
Making her way down the newly-repaired hall of Spencer's floor, she kept an eye out for any sign of danger and made her way to her best friend's new room. Haylie didn't even bother with knocking, turning the knob and allowing the door to open slowly while her fingers twitched and thrummed with energy. Stepping inside, she relaxed visibly when she caught sight of Spencer hunched over his work at his desk. Reaching back with one arm, she flicked her finger to release a small amount of her sonicboom to close the door for her.
In a matter of seconds, she was across the room and leaning over Spencer, arms going around him from behind in a tight hug. Haylie took a moment to bury her face in his neck and breathe in his scent, the simple action alone calming to her. Perhaps working through some of that residual fear and pain the other day wasn't such a good idea in light of the changes around camp. But she really didn't care about appearances right now.
He was safe, and her nightmares were just that - nightmares.
